Investigating Pioneers Who Made Australia is a series of evidence-based investigative biographies of 10 Australians from the past whose actions shaped the Australian nature and identity, helping make the nation what it is today. The series is relevant to aspects of History, English and Civics and Citizenship at various year levels from Years 4-6 and 9-10.
This unit introduces students to the life and legacy of David Unaipon, a pioneer, inventor, author, and advocate for Aboriginal rights. By investigating evidence about his contributions, students not only learn about a remarkable individual but also develop key historical inquiry skills—questioning, analysing sources, and evaluating different perspectives
Students develop the skills of critical analysis, carry out guided research, identify possible future developments in energy supply that will influence their world.
